This is a three day, intensive 20 hour CLE course with emphasis on revocable trust practical drafting instruction and analysis of case studies & sample provisions. Experienced practitioners provide guidance for each step in the estate planning process from pre-engagement to drafting to execution of final documents to termination of representation.

How To Administer Trusts: Step by Step

This is a three day, 20 hour intensive trust administration CLE course which takes students through each step of a revocable trust administration. Six common scenarios are reviewed involving single settlers, married couples (including same sex couples) and unmarried couples. Taxable and nontaxable estates are considered. Experienced practitioners provide guidance from probate code notice under California Probate Code section 16061.7 to final accounting and distribution. Sub-trust funding will be thoroughly reviewed.

Designing and Drafting LLCs and Family Limited Partnerships in California

This is a three day intensive 20 hour intensive LLC and Family Limited Partnership course with emphasis on practical drafting instruction and analysis of LLC and family partnership case studies and sample provisions. Experienced practitioners will thoroughly review multiple LLC operating agreements and FLP partnerships and address relevant planning issues form proper business purpose to management structure to dissolution and liquidation.

Designing and Drafting Irrevocable Trusts in California

This is a three day, intensive 20 hour CLE course with emphasis on irrevocable trust practical drafting instruction and analysis of case studies & sample provisions. Experienced practitioners provide guidance in basic drafting and implementation of irrevocable trusts including, irrevocable life insurance trusts, grantor trusts and split interest trusts including GRITS, GRATS and GRUTS. Drafting issues with all these types of trusts will be thoroughly explored.

Designing and Drafting Charitable Remainder Trusts and Charitable Lead Trusts

This is a three day, intensive 20 hour CLE course with emphasis on charitable remainder trust and charitable lead trust practical drafting instruction with an analysis of case studies & sample provisions. Experienced practitioners provide guidance in basic drafting and implementation of charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts. The provisions CRUTS, CRATS, NIMCRUTS, NICRUTS, FLIP TRUSTS, CLATS and CLUTS will be dissected by instructors and analyzed in multiple case studies.

Designing and Drafting 5 Common Estate Plans: A to Z.

This is a three day, intensive 20 hour CLE course where students will draft five common estate plans for review by experienced instructors. Students will be given sample forms and case studies and then will formulate a plan for a young married couple with minors; a married couple with children, grandchildren and/or no children; a single person with minors; a single person with children, grandchildren and/or no children; and a married couple with a blended family. Taxable and nontaxable estates will be reviewed. Completing “Drafting and Designing Revocable Trusts in California” as a prerequisite is very helpful but not necessary

The Probate Process in California from Start to Finish.

This is a three day, intensive 20 hour CLE course where students will review multiple probates from start to finish. Experienced practitioners will provide a thorough examination of each step in the probate process from initial filing to treatment of various assets to payment of claims to final accounting and distribution. The emphasis will be on real life; case studies, necessary forms and practical instruction.
